The Grove Country Club in Long Grove, IL is home to a Team Midwest affiliate coached by Brian Groszek. Coach Groszek runs Developmental I, Developmental II, Future Stars, Pre Elite, and Elite at this location.
Brian has been a PGA Member since 2000. He is a 1991 graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Ferris State University. Brian has been with the Royal Country Clubs for the past 21 years, first as an assistant professional, followed by being the head professional for 10 years at both Royal Fox and Royal Hawk. The past two years he has become the Director of Player Development for all three of their clubs; Royal Fox, Royal Hawk, and The Grove. He teaches 12 months a year at the clubs as well as indoors in the winter months at Tour Edge Golf facility.
Brian’s passion for junior golf was recognized when he was selected as a US Kids Golf Top 50 Junior Instructor in both 2012 and 2013. He has also been nominated by his peers for the 2014 Junior Golf Leader in Illinois. Brian has assisted St. Charles East High School with their golf team for the past 20 years as well as Marmion High School during their 2012 and 2013 seasons. Brian is now the local tournament director for US Kids Golf. He is very dedicated to growing the game.
Although Brian has a great admiration for Butch Harmon’s philosophies on the golf swing, he understands that each player is an individual and is committed to differentiating instruction to meet their needs and with the goal of improving their game. He is very strong at communication and does whatever it takes for the student to understand concepts and be able to translate them into their game. He will stop at nothing to communicate in a manner that works for each individual. Brian tries to set goals for each and every student and works hard to achieve those goals as a team. He stresses and makes sure his students understand the commitment they need to make together (teacher and student) in order to reach the goals that are set in place.
Brian’s favorite golf swings on tour are Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Ian Poulter, Tiger Woods and Graeme McDowell.
